Youth Is Back at Mountain Valley Chapel!

Church family and friends of the Valley,

I’m excited to finally announce this: YOUTH GROUP is coming back to Mountain Valley Chapel. 

After several years of not having it here, we’re launching on Thursday, February 5th, and we’ll meet every Thursday night after that.

We’re starting with grades 5th through 8th.

Why does this matter so much? Because our kids are getting discipled every day by what they scroll, what they hear, and what they’re surrounded by. We want them to have a place that’s safe, strong, and centered on Jesus. A place where they can belong, laugh, be known, and actually hear the Word of God.

Thursday nights will include worship, a clear Bible lesson, games, and real fellowship. We’re not trying to entertain students into maturity. We’re praying for them to encounter Christ and grow roots that hold when life gets heavy. Scripture says, “Let no one despise you for your youth” (1 Timothy 4:12). We believe God still calls young people and fills young people, and we’re making room for that.

And yes, the youth room downstairs got a full overhaul. We cleaned out years of buildup, rebuilt the space with purpose, set up ping pong, air hockey and foosball, improved lighting, put on a fresh coat of paint, and tightened up the sound system.

But more than paint and tables, we’ve been praying over every inch of that space. We want the presence of God welcomed there. Jesus said, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them” (Mark 10:14). We’re not hindering... We’re opening the doors!

Here are the details so parents know exactly what to do:

• Who: Grades 5th-8th

• When: Every Thursday, 6:30-8:00 PM

• Doors open: 6:15 PM

• Drop-off and pick-up: Parents or legal guardians drop off and pick up.

• Where: Use the basement door facing Lewis Ave.

• Registration: FREE, but registration is required. It’s done in person, very simple, and we will help. The first night, parents will walk their student in to register and sign them in.

• Check-in/check-out: Simple sign-in/sign-out with our leaders, done inside that same basement door.

• What to bring: Bring a Bible if you have one. If you don’t, we’ll provide one

• Food: Please eat beforehand. We’ll have a light snack each time.

Two things I want to say clearly:

You don’t have to be part of our church and please bring a friend!
